PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Faustino Hooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cedric Cecilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Cedric Cecilson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Cedric Cecilson!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Chris Edwards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cecilson stuffs the takedown.
Cecilson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hooper is trying to break the clinch but Cecilson has him pressed against the cage.
Hooper wants to break free but Cecilson has control.

Hooper escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hooper on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Hooper shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hooper will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Cecilson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hooper is working away from the top position though.
Cecilson is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Hooper really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cecilson is trying to control but can't.
Hooper is trying to control. Cecilson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Cecilson pushes Hooper off looking to stand but Hooper dives back in and keeps control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cecilson.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hooper is defended easily by Cecilson.

Cecilson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cecilson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Cecilson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hooper shoots in but Cecilson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Faustino Hooper. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cecilson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Cecilson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Cecilson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hooper dives on top into guard.

Cecilson is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Hooper has his hands clasped together but Cecilson extends and breaks Hooper's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Cecilson.
