PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Kharitonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Njord Freyr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freyr has chosen Twilight of the Thunder God as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kharitonov with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kharitonov swings for the body but Freyr moves out of range.
Kharitonov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
A chopping leg kick lands by Freyr.
Freyr feints and then cracks Kharitonov's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kharitonov down.

Freyr rushes Kharitonov and presses him up against the cage.
Freyr lands a nice shot to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Freyr lands on the inside with an uppercut.

It looks like Sergei Kharitonov has been cut.
Freyr digs a right hand underneath Kharitonov's ribcage. Kharitonov let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Kharitonov is breathing heavily.
Freyr throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kharitonovs head.
Freyr struggles to land a body shot inside as Kharitonov controls his hands.
Freyr works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Sergei Kharitonov's cut is getting worse.
Freyr presses Kharitonov against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Freyr digs a right hand into Kharitonov's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Kharitonov's gas tank.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Freyr pushes Kharitonov back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Freyr drops Kharitonov with a big knee straight up the middle! Kharitonov is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Kharitonov is rocked!
Freyr punishes Kharitonov's body with a nice straight punch.
Oh Kharitonov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Freyr scores with a hook to the body. Kharitonov takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Kharitonov tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Kharitonov seems to have got his legs back now.

Freyr closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Kharitonov wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Freyr has him pressed against the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Freyr.
Freyr throws a big uppercut that drops Kharitonov! More strikes from Freyr and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Kharitonov lies dazed against the cage as Freyr celebrates with his cornermen!
