Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diego Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paso Leati (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leati has chosen Babylon 5 as his entrance music. Paso Leati will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paso Leati!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leati is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sanchez.
We've been hearing reports that Sanchez has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Leati scores with a hook to the body. Sanchez takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Leati uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sanchez.
Sanchez ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sanchez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Leati.
Leati fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Leati closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sanchez to the mat! Sanchez manages to get full guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Leati working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Leati throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Sanchez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Leati throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sanchez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Leati working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sanchez's head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leati makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Leati thows a huge punch but Sanchez dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leati thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sanchez's head.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Leati connects with a nice short shot to Sanchez's temple.

Leati wants to pass the guard but Sanchez is defending well.

Leati is working for a kimura but Sanchez is defending it quite comfortably.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sanchez keeping hold of Leati's head, controlling as best he can.

Leati has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Leati cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Sanchez is pressing down on Leati's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Sanchez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Sanchez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Leati can't escape the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sanchez fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Leati is working to get back to half guard.
Sanchez lands with some strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paso Leati dominated that round.

Sanchez takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Sanchez ducks under a wild hook from Leati.
Sanchez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Leati.
Sanchez lands with a hook. Leati tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

A left lands for Leati.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sanchez ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sanchez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Leati.
A decent looking cross lands there for Leati.
Leati is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Sanchez swings for the body but Leati moves out of range.
Sanchez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Leati throws out the jab.

Leati scores with a nice right hand.


Sanchez is rocked!
Leati looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Oh Sanchez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Leati weaves into range and cracks Sanchez right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Sanchez goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Leati is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Paso Leati!
After winning the bout, Paso Leati thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
