PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reginaldo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quintonn Jacksson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacksson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rampage entrance song. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Reginaldo Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quintonn Jacksson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jacksson. That did some damage!
Jacksson throws an off balance right hand
and Silva counters with a nice uppercut.
Jacksson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Silva feints and as Jacksson raises his hands in defense, Silva changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Silva trying to control but Jacksson is working from the bottom.
Silva is working Jacksson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva cracks Jacksson with a solid left hand.
Jacksson can't keep his opponent in guard - Silva advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Silva definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Silva lands with a punch from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jacksson is refusing to be controlled, as Silva sits in half guard.
Silva is working for a submission of some sort.
Jacksson wants to get back to full guard but Silva has passed into side control.
Jacksson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Silva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva lands a few punches from side control.
Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Silva scores with a couple of short elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jacksson looks winded!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva lands an elbow.
Jacksson is rocked!
Jacksson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Jacksson is still in real trouble! Can Silva finish him?
Silva trying to control the action but Jacksson is working from the bottom.
Silva has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Jacksson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Silva yanks on the arm and Jacksson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Silva.
