PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zell Dincht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Leeroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dincht comes to the cage accompanied by Fanfare. The crowd seem to be enjoying Leeroy's choice of entrance music: Boondocks Theme Song. Zell Dincht could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bruce Leeroy's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Leeroy!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dincht looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

and Dincht counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Leeroy tries to roll over but Dincht keeps him under control.
Dincht landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Dincht not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Dincht wants to pass the guard but Leeroy is defending well.
Leeroy tries to get to full guard but Dincht has control of the leg.
Dincht wants to free his trapped foot but Leeroy is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Dincht looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Dincht has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dincht looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Leeroy enables Dincht to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Leeroy manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dincht accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dincht tries to free his leg and advance position but Leeroy is retaining full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dincht is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Leeroy is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Leeroy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Dincht is desperately trying to improve his position but Leeroy has a good base and remains in mount.

Dincht makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Dincht.

Leeroy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dincht does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dincht working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Leeroy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Leeroy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That was a close second round but I would say that Zell Dincht will probably get the nod.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dincht, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Zell Dincht was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
