PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Toki Umbaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kostas Lamar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Umbaka kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Anthem for the Underdog. Lamar has chosen Delirious (Outta My Mind) by Deliri0us as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lamar gets a takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Umbaka punching from the bottom.
Umbaka has hold of Lamar's hands but Lamar slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lamar connects with a nice short shot to Umbaka's temple.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lamar works his way into side control.
Lamar lands an elbow.

Umbaka is rocked!
Umbaka tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lamar wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Lamar scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Umbaka is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Lamar can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kostas Lamar!
A very excited looking Kostas Lamar rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
The defeated Toki Umbaka had this to say: 'He caught me a bit and I caught him a bit, I was a good fight, I'm honored to be able to fight in the QFC, I'll do better next time.'.
