Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Caiaphas Caine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maverick Smokeleaf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Smokeleaf's choice of entrance music: LMFAO - Sexy and I Know It . Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Maverick Smokeleaf!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caine misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smokeleaf.
Smokeleaf looks to score with a jab to the body but Caine is just out of range.
Smokeleaf tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Caine manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Smokeleaf on his heels. He'll look to pass Smokeleaf's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Caine accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Smokeleaf is looking to stand up but Caine isn't so interested in that idea.

Caine drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Caine jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Smokeleaf wants to stand but Caine is controlling the position.
Caine makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Smokeleaf pushes Caine off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Smokeleaf manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

I was talking to Caine's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Caine is trying to trip Smokeleaf. He has hold of a leg but Smokeleaf is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Caine persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smokeleaf clobbers Caine with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

It looks like Caiaphas Caine has been cut.

Smokeleaf misses with a hook. Caine ducked under it nicely.
Smokeleaf fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Caine looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Maverick Smokeleaf is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Smokeleaf tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Caine was well out of range. Poor timing from Smokeleaf.
Smokeleaf feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Caine's calf.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Caine looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smokeleaf with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Caine perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Smokeleaf is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Caine scores with a couple of nice shots.
Smokeleaf wants to improve his position but Caine is controlling well.

Caine is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Caine is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Smokeleaf is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
