Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luke Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kauko Partio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Partio's choice of entrance music: Partio enters the arena, that's one mean looking little fucker right there!. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Partio. Partio obviously looking to wear him down.
Jones connects with a looping right hand.

Partio swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jones.
Jones motions for Partio to come forward. Jones throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Jones shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Partio manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Partio has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Partio's legs - danger averted.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Partio lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jones has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jones and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Jones takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Our spies down at at Gangsterdamage inform us that Partio has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

We're going to have a standup here because Luke Jones wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Partio shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Jones will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Partio's waist but Partio gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.

Jones drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Partio manages to get himself to full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
