Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Gun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Carlton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gun's entrance music is The Tommy Gun. A fine choice. Tommy Gun is staring across the ring at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tommy Gun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Don Carlton!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Carlton throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Gun makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Carlton swings widly with a right hand
and Gun counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Carlton throws a lazy uppercut

and Gun counters by moving into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Carlton's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Carlton wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gun has him pressed against the ropes.
Carlton wants to take the fight to the mat but Gun manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Carlton fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gun keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Gun counters with a good low kick that Carlton was not able to check.

and Gun makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Don Carlton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carlton is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Carlton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Tommy Gun will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Gun is looking for a takedown.
Carlton tries to break free but Gun pushes him back against the ropes.

Gun is fighting off a takedown attempt but Carlton is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Gun to the mat. Gun regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Carlton is looking to work some ground and pound but Gun has wrist control.
Carlton trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Gun manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Gun stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carlton swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gun wants to stand but Carlton is controlling his posture from full guard.
Carlton wants to stand but Gun is controlling the position.

Gun not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Carlton rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Gun moves into the clinch.
Gun wants a takedown.
Carlton is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Gun gets underhooks to prevent Carlton's takedown attempt.

Gun gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Carlton.

Carlton has clasped his hands together around Gun's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Carlton is trying to ground and pound but Gun uses the momentary lack of control by Carlton to regain half guard.

Carlton thows a huge punch but Gun dodges it nicely.
Carlton throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Gun to regain full guard.
Gun avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Carlton is stalling in the full guard.
Gun utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Carlton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

and Gun counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Carlton rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gun moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Gun moves into the clinch.
Carlton tries to break free but Gun pushes him back against the ropes.

Carlton is trying to push Gun away but Gun has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.

Carlton is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Gun blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Gun is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Carlton pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Gun changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Carlton fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Carlton's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Gun leaves Carlton with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tommy Gun.
I think Gun has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
