Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brian Maddox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jie Liu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liu has chosen The Cinematic Orchestra ft. Roots Manuva - All Things To All Men as his entrance music. Jie Liu will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Liu checks a leg kick.
Maddox lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Maddox throws a combination. Liu tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Maddox has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Maddox changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Liu looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Liu feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
