PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leland Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palmer has chosen Annihilator - Fun Palace as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Leland Palmer was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leland Palmer!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Walker displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Palmer throws out the jab.

Palmer trying to control but Walker is working from the bottom.
Walker wants to sweep here but Palmer controlling him for the moment.
Palmer tries to free his leg and advance position but Walker is retaining full guard.

Walker is pulling down on Palmer's head. It's preventing any offense from Palmer, at least for the moment.
Palmer wants to control from the top but Walker keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Brandon Walker just wasn't active enough.
Palmer connects with a single shot there.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Palmer has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Palmer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Walker moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Palmer throws a shot from downtown. Walker moves away and avoids it.

Walker shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.


It looks like Brandon Walker has been cut.
Walker lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
No joy there for Palmer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Walker throws a lazy right hand but Palmer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Walker uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Palmer.
Palmer is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Walker.

Walker looking to score a takedown here. Palmer is defending well but Walker drives through and ends up in Palmer's guard.
Walker wants to control from the top but Palmer keeps moving.

Palmer looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Palmer looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Walker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Palmer on the ground.

Walker is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Palmer manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Walker manages to get himself to full guard.
Palmer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Walker is on top in guard.
Palmer manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Walker is squirming around, avoiding Palmer's attempts to control the action.
Walker is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at ~Abobomination Training $700 13 LEGIT elite coache, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Palmer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Walker is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Walker turns into Palmer and is now in his guard.
Walker trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Palmer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Walker is one step ahead there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Walker advances to half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Palmer keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Walker tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Palmer is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Walker's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Walker's back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Palmer shoots in looking for a takedown but Walker manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Palmer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Walker feints and as Palmer raises his hands in defense, Walker changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Palmer wants to hit a switch here but Walker passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Palmer there!
Walker lands a big shot there that rocks Palmer but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Palmer takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Palmer is trying desperately to improve position.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Palmer is squirming around, avoiding Walker's attempts to control the action.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Palmer is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Walker scores with a couple of nice shots.
Walker tries to stand but can't do so whilst Palmer controls his leg.

Walker throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Palmer wants to get back to full guard.

Walker wants to work for an arm triangle but Palmer is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Walker takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Walker not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Palmer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Walker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Walker has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Palmer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

You can see the frustration on Walker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Palmer is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Walker is trying to escape and Palmer transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Walker is forced to tap! Nice work there by Palmer! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Leland Palmer!
Leland Palmer made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying '^.^'.
Brandon Walker was interviewed post fight and said 'Thank you fans for supporting me. The better fighter won today. I promise to be back better than ever!'.
