The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a sloppy head kick and McMillan moves out of range easily.
McMillan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McMillan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
McMillan has a takedown stuffed.
McMillan shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed McMillan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Carl Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason McMillan.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones is looking to stand up but McMillan isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McMillan paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Jones ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jones no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

McMillan stops Jones from standing up.
Jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
