Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kogata Munoz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wai Man Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wai Man Li acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kogata Munoz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Wai Man Li!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li lands a slapping body shot.
Li stuffs the takedown.
Li looks to score with a jab to the body but Munoz is just out of range.
Munoz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Li waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Munoz.
Munoz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Li.
Munoz shoots for a takedown but Li saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kogata Munoz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Li throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Munoz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Li manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Li is trying to keep Munoz in close.

Li wants to hit a switch here but Munoz passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Li there!

Munoz cracks Li with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Munoz can't control as he wanted to and Li manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Li felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Still in half guard, Munoz seems content to control.

Li makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Li.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Li lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Munoz!
Munoz wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Munoz is squirming around, avoiding Li's attempts to control the action.

Li goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Munoz is on top in guard.

Li manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Munoz manages to get himself to full guard.

Li wants to lay and pray for a moment but Munoz keeps working.
Munoz is trying to maintain the position but Li is very close to passing his half guard.
Munoz is not content to let Li control the position.
Li throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Munoz throws a jab but it's blocked by Li.
Li misses with a wild body shot.
Li takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Li misses with a straight right.
Munoz drops his hands momentarily and Li takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Munoz wants to slow Li down by chopping away at his legs.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Munoz.
Munoz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Li tries a low kick but Munoz avoids it.
Munoz wants to land a leg kick but Li is out of range.

Munoz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Munoz lands in his opponent's guard.

Li is trying to control Munoz's posture but Munoz avoids it.
Li tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Munoz wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Munoz is looking to take a break and control but Li is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Munoz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Li has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Munoz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Li.
Li manages to get back to half guard.
Wai Man Li has got the better of the ground game so far.
Munoz passes the guard and advances to mount!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Li is in all sorts of trouble here.

Li bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Li is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Munoz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Li controls the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Li lands a right hook to the body.
Li works the jab nicely.

Li gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Munoz to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Li controls Munoz momentarily but Munoz frees himself.

A close second round but Wai Man Li will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Li takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Li connects with a body shot.
A big right from Munoz misses.
Munoz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Li counters with a leg kick.
Munoz misses with an uppercut. Li saw that one coming.
Munoz takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Li gets caught napping as Munoz dives in and scores a takedown. Li manages to retain guard.
Munoz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Munoz wants to control from the top but Li keeps moving.

Munoz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Li has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Munoz has managed to get both his arms back between Li's legs - danger averted.

Li is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Li escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Munoz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Munoz seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Li works his way to full guard. Good work.

Munoz is pressing down on Li's thigh, looking to free his foot. Li is holding on for now.
Munoz is trying to control. Li wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

I would just about give that final round to Wai Man Li.
Well Li has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Wai Man Li tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
