Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hans De Vries (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by Sabaton- Metal machine. De Vries has chosen Duke Lion as his entrance music. Hans De Vries will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

With a record of 31 - 18 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hans De Vries!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
De Vries loads up on a big right hand but Smith slips the punch.
De Vries throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smith stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
De Vries stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and De Vries wants it to stay on the feet.
De Vries thumps Smith with a low kick.
Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but De Vries sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat.

Smith drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. De Vries swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Dan Smith will probably get the nod.

De Vries circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Smith drops to the canvas, hurt badly! De Vries follows Smith to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
