Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael MacRoberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rasputin comes into the arena with Evil Scarecrow- Robotatron blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying MacRoberts's choice of entrance music: God Save the Queen by The Sex Pistols. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Piotr Rasputin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 22 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael MacRoberts!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasputin has his takedown stuffed
and MacRoberts counters with a two punch combo.
MacRoberts misses with a two punch combination.
MacRoberts wants to clinch up but Rasputin keeps it at a distance.
MacRoberts defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rasputin.
MacRoberts throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
MacRoberts scores with the left hand. Rasputin knows he should have avoided that one.

and MacRoberts counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Piotr Rasputin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rasputin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has MacRoberts pinned against the cage. MacRoberts gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
MacRoberts tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rasputin was well out of range. Poor timing from MacRoberts.
MacRoberts throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rasputin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Rasputin fails with the takedown
and MacRoberts counters with a stiff right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rasputin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in MacRoberts's half guard.
Rasputin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
MacRoberts is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rasputin is controlling him.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if MacRoberts can do anything to dispel that myth.

MacRoberts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rasputin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rasputin is looking to take a break and control but MacRoberts is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Rasputin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Rasputin creates some space and throws a big elbow, but MacRoberts sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Rasputin tries to move to full mount but MacRoberts actually manages to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rasputin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but MacRoberts does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rasputin prevents MacRoberts from standing back up.
Rasputin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks MacRoberts with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
MacRoberts looks like he's trying to stand up.
Rasputin wants to pass the guard but MacRoberts is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rasputin looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Rasputin shoots in looking for a takedown. MacRoberts tries to sprawl out of it but Rasputin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. MacRoberts manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rasputin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but MacRoberts defends well and Rasputin ends up having to push MacRoberts into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
MacRoberts wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

MacRoberts pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
MacRoberts clobbers Rasputin with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Piotr Rasputin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
MacRoberts dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
MacRoberts wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Rasputin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from MacRoberts.

MacRoberts is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rasputin is controlling him.
Rasputin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. MacRoberts swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rasputin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Rasputin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Piotr Rasputin.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rasputin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
