The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cormier moves into range and clinches up with Bacon.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Cormier creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Cormier escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Cormier moves into the clinch successfully.

Cormier's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cormier throws a series of punches but Bacon moves out of range.
Bacon slips under a jab.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Bacon decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cormier, up you get!

Cormier closes the distance and clinches.
Bacon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bacon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Henderson Cormier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cevada Bacon.

Cormier pulls Bacon into guard.
Bacon advances position into side control!
Cormier is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bacon's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Bacon stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Cormier to get to his feet.

Cormier gets the takedown into side control.
Bacon is working to avoid the ground and pound but Cormier connects with a decent elbow.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cormier is trying to get an arm triangle but Bacon is defending well.
Cormier advances to mount.

Cormier has hold of Bacon's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bacon manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Cormier looking to control but Bacon is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Bacon can't escape the position.

Cormier looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Cormier is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Bacon has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Bacon slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Bacon looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Cormier is working for a kimura but Bacon is defending it quite comfortably.

Cormier is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bacon defends it well.

Bacon flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Bacon is trying to stand.
Cormier is taking a breather. Bacon says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bacon has hold of Cormier's hands but Cormier slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Bacon makes his way to full guard, as Cormier worked for a kimura.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Cormier moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Bacon! Cormier continues to tee off on Bacon, landing with a left and a right! Cormier connects with a right hand that leaves Bacon sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Cormier!
