The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith wants to clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Smith enables Bailey to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Smith manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bailey gets to his feet - Smith follows without any prompting.
Bailey closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. Bailey pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Smith tries to clinch but Bailey is having none of it.
Bailey closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smith circles away.
Bailey shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lesean Bailey. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith fails with an attempt to clinch.

Smith drops Bailey with a beautiful combination! Bailey stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Smith is looking for the KO!

Smith tries to bum rush Bailey with a series of wild strikes but Bailey uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A head kick misses from Smith.
Smith misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Smith pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Bailey shoots for a takedown but Smith saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bailey circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bailey tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Smith defends well and Bailey ends up having to push Smith into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Bailey is breathing heavily.
Smith lands a damaging elbow.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Bailey.

Smith lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Bailey backwards.
Bailey is trying to push Smith away but Smith has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Bailey really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bailey goes for a takedown attempt but Smith pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Smith lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Bailey out cold! Bailey is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
