PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damion Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Than Asos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Asos has chosen Ahoo Ahoo as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Asos closes the distance and clinches.
Asos is trying to break the clinch but Castro is controlling him.
Castro keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Asos's efforts to push away.

Castro pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Castro bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Asos wants to break the clinch but can't.
Castro is leaning against Asos and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Asos is working an open guard so Castro takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Asos fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Castro, pushing him back against the cage.
Castro lands a good knee to the midsection. Asos won't want to take too many of those.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Castro keeps control of Asos as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Asos throws a shot from downtown. Castro moves away and avoids it.

Asos gets caught napping as Castro dives in and scores a takedown. Asos manages to retain guard.
Castro won't allow Asos to get back to his feet.
Castro lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Castro is standing up over Asos. Asos looks to escape but Castro dives into side control.
Asos bucks up and tries to throw Castro off but instead Castro has got his back!
Castro is punishing Asos with strikes - can he finish him?!
Asos is trying to stand back up.
Castro really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Asos.
Castro is punishing Asos with some ground and pound.

Castro lands punches and elbows.
Asos holding both Castro 's hands and preventing any damage.
Castro lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Castro.
Castro lands a shot to the body.
Asos trying to get back to his feet but Castro is in full control for now.

Asos is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Castro connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Asos to escape the position.
Damion Castro overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Castro is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Castro gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Castro gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Castro apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Asos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Asos lands a nice looking body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Castro moves away from the strike by Asos.
Castro displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Asos throws out the jab.

Castro shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Castro decides to stand and escape the position.

Asos rushes Castro and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Asos throws a punch but it's blocked by Castro.

A jab from Asos misses.

Asos drops Castro with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Castro looks back up at him and smiles so Asos waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Castro is rocked!


It looks like Damion Castro has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Asos clinches up against the cage.
Oh Castro is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Castro breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Asos instigates a clinch.
Asos tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Asos throws a punch but it's blocked by Castro.
Asos is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Than Asos seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Castro lands with a light punch inside.
Asos is trying to break the clinch but Castro is controlling him.

Castro breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Asos is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Castro.

Castro looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Asos!

Castro stands up.
Damion Castro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Than Asos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Asos misses with the head strike.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Asos looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Castro blocking some punches.
Castro blocks a punch to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Than Asos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Castro leaves his chin hanging out and Asos seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Castro crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Than Asos!
As Than Asos got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: I cannot be defeated'.
