The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmes walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Fenrir lands a nice hook to Holmes's body. Holmes takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Fenrir throws a one two combo.
Holmes fails with the takedown.
Holmes on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Dean Holmes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Holmes tries a head kick but it misses.
Fenrir cracks Holmes with a good jab.
Fenrir feints a jab promting Holmes to slip. Fenrir then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Holmes slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Holmes on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Fenrir lands an overhand right.
Fenrir slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Holmes feints and as Fenrir raises his hands in defense, Holmes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Holmes is breathing heavily.
Holmes's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Fenrir looking for a sweep. Not yet Fenrir, not yet.
Fenrir is trying to control the position but Holmes postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dean Holmes.
Fenrir connects with a jab.
Fenrir lands a nice hook to Holmes's body. Holmes takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Fenrir connects with a right hand. Holmes shakes it off.
Fenrir throws out a powerful jab.
Holmes shoots in looking for a takedown. Fenrir tries to sprawl out of it but Holmes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fenrir manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fenrir moves in looking to clinch but Holmes pushes him off.

Holmes takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Fenrir connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Holmes is rocked!
Fenrir might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Fenrir fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Holmes to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Holmes looks to clinch but Fenrir throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Holmes taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
