Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gabriel Angel!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams fails to land with a series of punches.

Nice takedown defense from Angel. No joy for Adams on that attempt.
Adams could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Angel is trying hard to land a takedown here. Adams sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Angel tries a head kick but it misses.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Angel enables Adams to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Angel manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Adams wants to get up but he can't break Angel's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Angel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Adams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Angel can do anything to dispel that myth.

Angel tries to roll over but Adams keeps him under control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Angel has a hand on Adams's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Adams takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Adams fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Adams has control of Angel's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Angel regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Angel tries to reverse the position but Adams maintains control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Angel is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Adams fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Angel avoids it really well and circles away.
Adams keeps the fight on the outside.
Angel tries to clinch up but Adams circles away and keeps his distance.
Adams's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Adams duly obliges.

Adams dives in for a single leg takedown but Angel sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Adams has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Angel after a bit of a struggle.
Angel wants to break the clinch but can't.

Angel is fighting off a takedown attempt but Adams is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Angel to the mat. Angel regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Angel shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Adams's guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gabriel Angel hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Adams accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Angel is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Adams defends well.
