Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Maubee Away!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladik Fedotov!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fedotov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Away manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Fedotov slips under a jab.
Away shoots in but no luck this time.
Away misses with a left hand

and Fedotov counters by clinching up.
Fedotov lands with a right to the head.
Away is trying to pull guard but Fedotov has him pressed against the cage.
Away tries to pull guard but Fedotov won't allow it.
I was talking to Away's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maubee Away. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Away jumps guard but Fedotov turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Away blocks the elbow strike.
Fedotov scores with a shoulder strike.

Away pulls guard successfully.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Fedotov wants to get up but he can't break Away's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Fedotov won't allow Away to sweep him here.

Away is looking to sweep but instead, Fedotov has passed into half guard.
Away wants to improve his position but Fedotov is controlling well.

Fedotov escapes and gets back to his feet.
Fedotov misses with a looping right.
Away tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fedotov was well out of range. Poor timing from Away.

and Away counters with a nice body shot.

Away throws a looping overhand right but Fedotov ducks down to avoid it.

Fedotov lands a nice leg kick that just misses Away's sensitive parts.
Away darts in looking for a takedown but Fedotov gets double underhooks and turns Away into the cage.
Away is looking to take this one to the mat.

Away works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fedotov has his hands on Away's head, controlling the position.
Away is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Fedotov pulls Away in close to his closed guard and prevents Away from doing any damage or advancing position.

Fedotov wants to sweep here but Away controlling him for the moment.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Away throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Fedotov is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Away is controlling him.

Away controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Away has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Away slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Fedotov is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Away thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Fedotov is trying to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Away moves into full mount!
Away breaks from Fedotov's wrist control and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maubee Away dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Fedotov takes a swing at Away's ribcage but misses.
Maubee Away seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Away ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Fedotov looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Away misses with a hook.
Fedotov throws a leg kick but Away sees it coming and moves out of range.
Fedotov walks into a left hand.
Away connects with a body shot that sends Fedotov's belly button to the back.
Away throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Away throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
The crowd cheers as Away lands an impressive looking overhand right. Fedotov doesn't seem phased though.
Away avoids a kick to the body.
Away throws a hook but Fedotov blocks it.
Fedotov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Away scores with a jab. Fedotov acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Away misses with a straight left.
Away misses with a hook. Fedotov ducked under it nicely.
Fedotov's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Away connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Fedotov scrambles back to his feet.
Vladik Fedotov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Away cracks Fedotov with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Fedotov is rocked!
Away is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fedotov.
Fedotov is still on wobbly legs! Can Away finish him?
Away circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fedotov throws a wild hook but Away just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Fedotov gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Away raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

A very excited looking Maubee Away made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
