Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kj Barakus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vlad Fresh!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fresh throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nice shot by Fresh.
Sloppy strikes from Fresh. Those never looked like landing.
Barakus tries to clinch but Fresh is having none of it.
Barakus moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Fresh fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Barakus manages to avoid it.
No joy there for Fresh, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Barakus will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Fresh takes a swing at Barakus's ribcage but misses.
Fresh moves into range and connects with a jab.
Barakus has a takedown stuffed.
Fresh tests Barakus's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Fresh misses with a wild body shot.
Barakus darts in looking for a takedown but Fresh gets double underhooks and turns Barakus into the cage.
Fresh lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Still in the clinch, Fresh scores with a nice short uppercut.
Barakus blocks a body shot from Fresh.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Fresh.

Barakus tightens his grip and picks Fresh up, before dumping him to the ground. Fresh manages to land in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barakus seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fresh does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Barakus looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Barakus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Fresh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barakus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fresh controls Barakus momentarily but Barakus frees himself.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kj Barakus.
Fresh thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Barakus if he has to take too many more of those.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fresh can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fresh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Barakus wants to get up but he can't break Fresh's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Barakus has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Fresh finds it's way round the side to connect with Barakus's head.
Barakus looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fresh is fending him off so far but Barakus persists. Nope, Fresh circles away and we're back to standing.
Barakus tries to clinch up but Fresh circles away and keeps his distance.
Fresh lands a two punch combo.
Barakus tries to close the distance and clinch but Fresh swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fresh looks to land a combination. Barakus sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Barakus closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Barakus is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fresh is just riding it out for now. Barakus eventually gives up the hold.

Kj Barakus opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
