The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
van der geest is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Glass connects with a looping right hand.
Glass lands with a hook. van der geest tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
van der geest tries for a takedown but Glass sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
van der geest tries to close the distance and clinch up but Glass swats him away and circles back towards the center.
van der geest on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Glass tries a head kick but it misses.
Glass drops his shoulder and cracks van der geest with a huge uppercut! van der geest goes down! Can Glass finish him?

Glass stays in close to van der geest's body and controls the position.
Glass wants to pass the guard but van der geest is keeping the position.
van der geest has a closed guard, preventing Glass from standing up.
van der geest wants to sweep but no luck.
Glass wants to get up but he can't break van der geest's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
van der geest keeping moving, preventing Glass from controlling successfully.
van der geest looking to hit a scissor sweep but Glass is one step ahead there.
Glass wants to pass the guard but van der geest is keeping the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Glass slips a straight right by van der geest.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
van der geest takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
van der geest is breathing heavily.
Glass throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Glass looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Glass tries to close the distance and clinch up but van der geest swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Glass throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by van der geest.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Glass lands with a big left! van der geest is wobbled badly! Glass comes in with a flurry of punches and drops van der geest to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
