Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randal Plimpton!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanford is looking to chop away at Plimpton's legs.
Plimpton looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Plimpton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sanford swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sanford throws a head kick that misses.

and Plimpton counters with a head kick that drops Sanford to the mat! Sanford scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Fred Sanford seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sanford avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Plimpton blocks a head kick by Sanford.
Sanford looks for the body kick but Plimpton saw that one coming.

Plimpton tries to keep at a distance but Sanford has taken the fight into the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Plimpton just misses with a elbow thrown towards Sanford's brow.
Plimpton throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Plimpton lands a nice elbow.


It looks like Fred Sanford has been cut.
Sanford tries to land a knee to the head but Plimpton blocks with his arms.

Sanford breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

With the fighters up against the cage, Plimpton throws an elbow but misses.

Sanford avoids the elbow strike from Plimpton, against the cage.

Sanford's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Plimpton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sanford swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sanford connects with a high kick.


It looks like Randal Plimpton has been cut.
Sanford has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Plimpton tries to clinch but Sanford moves out of range.

Sanford has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sanford scores with a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sanford creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Plimpton's defenses.

Sanford breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Sanford is looking to slow Plimpton down with leg kicks.
Sanford throws a lazy right hand but Plimpton sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sanford fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Plimpton wants to clinch but Sanford slips to the side
and Sanford connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Plimpton throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Plimpton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sanford manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Sanford lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Sanford lands a big head kick that sends Plimpton tumbling to the mat! Sanford takes a step backwards and waves Plimpton back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Plimpton is rocked!
Sanford bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Sanford fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Plimpton takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Plimpton is still on wobbly legs! Can Sanford finish him?


That has opened up Randal Plimpton's cut even more.

Sanford lands a big uppercut and Plimpton crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Plimpton looks OK. Sanford waves Plimpton back to his feet!
Sanford swings away with a leg kick that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sanford dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Plimpton. That did some damage!
Plimpton seems to have recovered his senses.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Sanford, right into the meat.

Sanford lands a big head kick that sends Plimpton tumbling to the mat! Sanford takes a step backwards and waves Plimpton back to his feet - he wants the finish!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sanford scores with a kick to the midsection.
Sanford misses with a jab to the body
and Plimpton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sanford throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Plimpton takes the fight into the clinch.
Plimpton lands a nice elbow.

Sanford drops Plimpton with a big knee straight up the middle! Plimpton is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!


The cut above Randal Plimpton's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Plimpton takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Plimpton looks winded!
Sanford throws a head kick but Plimpton moves out of range.
Sanford with a jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sanford throws a leg kick that is checked
and Plimpton counters with a stiff right hand.
Sanford cracks Plimpton with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Plimpton falls to his knees and Sanford doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fred Sanford!
Fred Sanford seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
