Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dileno Carneiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Flecher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dileno Carneiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Steven Flecher!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carneiro shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Flecher but Flecher pushes him off and we're back to square one.

so Flecher counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Flecher stopping the sweep attempt from Carneiro.

Carneiro is looking for a triangle but Flecher pushes his legs off easily.

Carneiro looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Carneiro had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Flecher defends it easily.
Carneiro is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Flecher missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Flecher gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Flecher shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Carneiro's guard.

Carneiro avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Carneiro scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Carneiro tries for a kimura but Flecher is defending well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carneiro works to advance to full mount. Flecher defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Carneiro is breathing heavily.

Flecher is in all sorts of trouble here.
Carneiro thowing shots but they're missing.

Carneiro looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Flecher tries to lock up and control but Carneiro gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Carneiro tries to control but Flecher wriggling away.
Flecher is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Carneiro misses with a head shot.

Carneiro goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Flecher is on top in guard.

Flecher slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Carneiro is looking to regain half guard here but Flecher keeps moving and retains side control.

Flecher decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Flecher drives through with a takedown into guard.
Carneiro is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Carneiro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Flecher doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Flecher manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Flecher tries to clinch up but Carneiro circles away and keeps his distance.
Carneiro misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dileno Carneiro. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Flecher shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Carneiro napping and manages to drive through into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carneiro is looking for a sweep. Flecher is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Flecher tries to clinch there but Carneiro circles away.

Flecher seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Carneiro wants to control the position but Flecher says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Flecher is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Flecher postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Carneiro has an active guard here but Flecher has managed to pass into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Steven Flecher showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Carneiro misses with a takedown

and Flecher decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Carneiro's guard.

Carneiro has an active guard here but Flecher has managed to pass into half guard.

Flecher is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carneiro doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Flecher.

Well Flecher has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
