Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rosen Strasser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Trik Turner - Friends and Family kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rosen Strasser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Freddy Alves!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Strasser fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Strasser slips under a jab from Alves.
Strasser fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Alves manages to avoid it.
A jab from Alves misses.
Alves misses with a looping left.
Strasser takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Alves misses with a takedown attempt - Strasser sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A slow jab from Strasser misses its intended target.
Strasser displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Alves.
Alves throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Strasser.

Some wild striking there from Alves.
Strasser takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
We've been told by Strasser's head coaches at The Warehouse that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Alves lands with a good body shot.
Strasser lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Alves pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Strasser back to the cage. Alves follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Rosen Strasser has been cut.
Freddy Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Strasser avoids the body shot from Alves.
Strasser bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Alves slips a jab and a cross from Strasser.
Strasser slips under a jab.
Alves shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Strasser but Strasser pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rosen Strasser has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddy Alves.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Strasser lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Strasser.
Strasser misses with a double jab.
Alves connects with a jab.
Alves tries to bum rush Strasser with a series of wild strikes but Strasser uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Alves drives through with a takedown into Strasser's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Alves lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Strasser trying to keep a closed guard but Alves is proving a slippery customer.

Alves throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alves working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Strasser's head.
Alves throwing strikes from guard but Strasser blocks nicely.

Alves throwing strikes but missing.
Alves stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Strasser swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Strasser really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alves in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Strasser utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Strasser connects with a crisp jab.
Alves just misses with a punch to the body.
Strasser connects with a single shot there.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Strasser has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Alves has Strasser pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Strasser manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Strasser's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Alves! Strasser is backing up but he can't get away as Alves lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Strasser and ends the fight. Great knockout.
