Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cheech Marin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marin's waist but Marin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sanchez off to one side.
Marin looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Marin shoots and misses
and Sanchez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sanchez.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Sanchez wanted to stand there but Marin had control of the position.

Sanchez drops back, looking for a kneebar! Marin looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Marin looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Marin!

Marin is looking to stand up but Sanchez won't let him.
Sanchez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Marin defends well.
Sanchez seems keen to control Marin's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanchez controls Marin momentarily but Marin frees himself.
Marin wants to get up but he can't break Sanchez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Sanchez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Marin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Sanchez is tightening it up a little... Marin has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Marin reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Marin taps out! Nice BJJ there by Sanchez!
