Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juliano Villar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergei Garkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Villar kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Prophet by Soulfly. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Juliano Villar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergei Garkov!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garkov misses with an uppercut.
A jab from Garkov does it's job there.
Garkov darts in and clinches Villar up against the cage.
Villar prevents Garkov from breaking the clinch.
Villar tightens his grip and picks Garkov up, before dumping him to the ground. Garkov manages to land in guard.
Garkov wants to sweep here but Villar controlling him for the moment.
Garkov wants to stand up but Villar is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Villar trying to control but Garkov is working from the bottom.
Villar slips nicely into half guard.
Villar looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Villar is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Villar seems to be looking for submissions.
Villar is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Garkov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Villar.
Villar is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Garkov has managed to free his arm - good work.
Villar is trying to control. Garkov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Garkov is looking to escape.
Villar is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Garkov sees it coming and defends easily.
Villar is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Garkov is just riding it out for now. Villar eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Villar tries to pass to full mount but Garkov defends it.
Garkov felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Villar is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Garkov has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Villar working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Villar moves to back control.
Villar is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Garkov won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Villar off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Juliano Villar!
A relieved looking Juliano Villar thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
