PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carl Plum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xtreme Mma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mma comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I Wont Back Down kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Xtreme Mma will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mma looks to land a right hand but Plum moved out of range.
Plum throws an off balance right hand
and Mma counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Plum is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mma.
Plum misses with an attempted mid kick.
Mma ducks under a wild hook from Plum.
Plum takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Plum thows a body shot but no joy.
Mma tries to move into range but Plum moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Mma ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Plum buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Plum looks to score with a jab to the body but Mma is just out of range.
Mma lands with a shot to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Plum wants to break free but Mma has control.

Mma misses with the head strike.
Plum tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Mma's elbow.

Mma tries to stall but Plum uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Mma tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Plum swings wildly with an uppercut but Mma uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mma gets through Plum's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Mma avoids the elbow strike from Plum, against the cage.
Mma lands a body punch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Plum just misses with a elbow thrown towards Mma's brow.

Mma's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Carl Plum is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Plum jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Carl Plum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That kick from Plum tenderised Mma's leg. Mma is trying to keep his angry face on.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mma has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Mma lands a left and a right that sends Plum crashing to the canvas! Mma dives into mount looking to finish!

Plum is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Disciples Top Team that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Mma loads up with a big shot that hurts Plum! He's pulled Mma in close but Mma has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Plum survive? More strikes from Mma and Plum is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
