Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Floro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Floro might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bang - Gorky Park. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Floro.
Floro misses with a double jab.
Rua looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Floro is fending him off so far but Rua persists. Nope, Floro circles away and we're back to standing.
Floro misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rua.
Rua misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Rua uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Floro.
Floro throws a sloppy head kick and Rua moves out of range easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rua shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Floro pinned against the cage. Floro gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Floro parries the strikes from Rua easily there. Rua is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Floro to escape.
Rua has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Floro has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Rua's lack of action.

Rua seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Floro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Rua shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Floro as he jumps to the side.

Floro throws a nice looking combination but Rua bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Rua changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Floro tries to avoid it but Rua manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Floro to the ground. Floro escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A solid leg kick lands there for Rua.
Floro throws a body punch but Rua moves out of range.
Donk. Floro catches Rua right on the button with a cross.

Rua looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rua looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Floro tries to kick Rua off but Rua keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

That's time! Floro's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Rua shoots for a double leg takedown but Floro sprawls well. He's pushed Rua's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Rua counters with a three punch combo that has Floro backing up. Floro nods at Rua to acknowledge the strikes.

Floro swats away the attempt to clinch by Rua.
Rua takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

and Rua counters with a head kick. That will keep Floro thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Rua counters with a shoot takedown. Floro fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Rua decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Rua counters with a nice double leg into side control. Floro won't be happy with that.
Rua fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Rua in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Floro avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Rua.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Rua throwing strikes but Floro manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Rua is working for takedown but Floro is calmly controlling the position for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Floro can't find room to land a body shot as Rua controls the action.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rua takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Fio Rua showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Floro lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Rua stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Floro swivels though and keeps the full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Rua closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rua lands in his opponent's guard.
Floro wants to get back to his feet but Rua is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Rua throws and elbow that misses. Floro uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rua's guard. Nice move by Floro!

Rua throws his legs up looking for a submission but Floro uses it to pass to side control.
Rua is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Fio Rua comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
