PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Ali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caleb Newton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Newton comes into a darkened arena with his song building. American Badass - Kid Rock kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Caleb Newton will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newton ducks under a wild hook from Ali.
Newton moves out of range of the strikes.
Ali throws out a loose jab but Newton uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ali throws a jab but it's blocked by Newton.
Newton shoots in for a takedown but Ali shows good takedown defense.
Newton shoots for a takedown but Ali saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ali fails with the takedown.

Ali looks to throw the jab but Newton is out of range.

Newton shoots in looking for a takedown. Ali tries to sprawl out of it but Newton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ali manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ali throws the kick towards the body but Newton avoids it.
Newton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ali manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Newton displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ali throws out the jab.

Newton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Ali clinches up against the cage.
Ali gets through Newton's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Newton is trying to break the clinch but Ali has him pressed against the cage.
Ali is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Newton is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ali pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Ali is looking to break free of the clinch but Newton has double underhooks.
Newton is trying to drag Ali to the mat but Ali just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Ali looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Ali is looking for a takedown.
Newton drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ali has Newton pressed against the cage, preventing Newton from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Newton keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ali's efforts to push away.
Newton can't get the takedown.

Newton has an Americana. Ali didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Newton is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Newton hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
