Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richie Parrish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Schmeling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Richie Parrish has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Richie Parrish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Max Schmeling!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parrish keeps the fight on the outside.
Parrish moves out of range as Schmeling throws a body kick.
Parrish with a lazy takedown attempt

and Schmeling counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Schmeling wants to get up but he can't break Parrish's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Parrish might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Max Schmeling has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Schmeling dives in and scores a takedown into Parrish's guard.

Schmeling is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Parrish is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Parrish throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Parrish wants to control the position but Schmeling says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Schmeling keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Parrish's head.

Schmeling wants to pass the guard but Parrish is keeping the position.

Schmeling is pressing down on Parrish's thigh, looking to free his foot. Parrish is holding on for now.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
You can see the frustration on Parrish's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Parrish is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Schmeling is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Parrish defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Schmeling controls the position.
Parrish tries to escape the position.
Parrish trying to control but not successfully.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Schmeling has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Schmeling scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Schmeling tries to stand but Parrish is controlling his head.
Parrish tries to control but Schmeling manages to take his back.

Schmeling has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Parrish's body.
Parrish looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Schmeling slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Schmeling controls the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Schmeling's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Schmeling really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Parrish.
Schmeling lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Schmeling.
Schmeling is not going to allow Parrish to sit and survive in this position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Schmeling is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Parrish won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Schmeling off his unconscious opponent!
