Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sylvester Gallegos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson Silva will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sylvester Gallegos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anderson Silva!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva gets tackled into the cage by Gallegos. Gallegos maintains the clinch.

Gallegos jumps guard and drags Silva to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Silva working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Gallegos pulls Silva in close to prevent any damage.

Silva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gallegos utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Silva throwing strikes from guard but Gallegos blocks nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gallegos pulls Silva in to control the position.
Silva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Silva is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gallegos is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gallegos has escaped and now he's on top!

Silva jumps guard and drags Gallegos to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Silva holds on and takes a little breather.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Anderson Silva has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Silva clinches up with Gallegos and pushes him back against the cage.

Gallegos stands up over Silva, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Silva is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Gallegos presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Silva manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Gallegos drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Gallegos off! Gallegos jumps back into Silva's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gallegos accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Anderson Silva wasn't active enough on the ground.

Silva forces Gallegos back against the cage and clinches.

Gallegos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Gallegos has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gallegos manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Gallegos in his guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That was a close second round but I would say that Sylvester Gallegos will probably get the nod.

Gallegos has picked Silva up - he's going for a ride! Gallegos dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gallegos looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Gallegos stops Silva from getting back to his feet.
Gallegos slows the pace down in half guard.

Gallegos wants to work for an arm triangle but Silva is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Gallegos is trying to control. Silva wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Silva wants to control but Gallegos is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Gallegos seems to be looking for submissions.
Silva is staying active underneath Gallegos, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Silva tries to kick Gallegos off in order to stand up. Gallegos Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Silva tries to bench press Gallegos off him but Gallegos keeps the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Silva is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Gallegos is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Anderson Silva.
I think Silva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
