PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between George Efadze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Laranja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laranja misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Laranja tries to close the distance and clinch up but Efadze swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Efadze misses with a wild combination.
Laranja moves to clinch but Efadze breaks away
and Efadze counters with a head kick.
Efadze tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Laranja shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Laranja.

Laranja shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Efadze defends it nicely.

Laranja has Efadze pressed against the cage, preventing Efadze from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Efadze is trying to force a seperation but Laranja has the dominant position.

Efadze has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Efadze is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Laranja tries for a takedown. No joy.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Laranja has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Efadze should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Laranja has tightened it up now! Efadze should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
