Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Gautier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Folignus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Folignus has chosen Laces Out as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pierre Gautier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Folignus!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Roberts and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gautier misses with a double jab
and Folignus counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Gautier is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Folignus feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gautier's calf.
Folignus throws a sloppy head kick and Gautier moves out of range easily.
Gautier just misses with a punch to the body.
Folignus throws a leg kick which misses Gautier's front leg but catches the back leg as Gautier tries to avoid it.
Pierre Gautier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gautier gets caught flat footed, as Folignus shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Folignus trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gautier seems keen to control Folignus's posture.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Folignus trying to control the position from guard on top but Gautier is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Folignus pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gautier is keeping the position for now.

Folignus works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Folignus drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Folignus jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Gautier has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Folignus is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Gautier reverses the position - he's now on top in Folignus's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Folignus is on top in guard.

Folignus drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gautier looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gautier looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gautier!
Folignus is looking for a sweep.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Folignus looks to move to half guard but instead Gautier has passed into mount! Damn!
Folignus is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Folignus dominated that round.
That's time! Gautier's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Folignus scores with a spinning back kick!
The crowd cheers as Folignus lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gautier doesn't seem phased though.
Folignus throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Gautier gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Folignus has clasped his hands together around Gautier's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Gautier wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Gautier tries to improve position but can't.
Folignus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gautier keeps working.
Folignus is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Gautier will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Folignus goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Gautier rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Folignus's guard! Nice work there by Gautier!
Gautier not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Folignus is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gautier is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Folignus has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Gautier has passed into side control.
Folignus tries to buck Gautier off but Gautier is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Folignus tries to roll over but Gautier keeps him under control.

Folignus wants to get back to full guard but Gautier has mounted him!

Folignus is desperately trying to improve his position but Gautier has a good base and remains in mount.
Gautier looking to control but Folignus is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Folignus can't escape the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gautier is trying to control here but Folignus has managed to regain half guard.

Nick Folignus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Gautier's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Gautier rushes Folignus and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Gautier tries to work over Folignus's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Folignus is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gautier defends well.

Folignus lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gautier!

Folignus jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gautier is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gautier and Folignus has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Nick Folignus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Folignus winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
