Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Forrest Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Wahl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hardy comes into the arena with Shipping Up To Boston blaring out of the sound system. Forrest Hardy has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Franklyn Lucas and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hardy gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Wahl with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Wahl tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Wahl misses with an elbow over the top.

Hardy jumps guard and drags Wahl to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Wahl pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hardy is keeping the position for now.

Wahl postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Wahl drops back looking for a leg! Hardy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hardy manages to kick Wahl off! Wahl jumps back into Hardy's guard.
Hardy is pulling down on Wahl's head to control his posture.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hardy is looking for a triangle but Wahl pushes his legs off easily.
Wahl passes into half guard.

Wahl is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hardy is just riding it out for now. Wahl eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wahl is looking for submissions but instead, Hardy has regained full guard.

Hardy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hardy stops Wahl from passing to mount.
Wahl landing a few strikes.
Hardy takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Wahl is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Hardy is trying to escape and Wahl transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Hardy is forced to tap! Nice work there by Wahl! Very nice indeed!
