Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Easton West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurtis Couturier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). West comes into the arena with Stick To Your Guns - Against Them All blaring out of the sound system. Couturier has chosen Forever Angel as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couturier gets in close and instigates a clinch.
West blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Couturier breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
West throws a half hearted mid kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by West.
Couturier lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
It looks like Easton West has been cut.
Couturier fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. West looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A head kick misses from West.
Couturier dips to his left and cracks West with an uppercut!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
West scoring well with a low kick there.
West scores with a head kick. Couturier tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
West swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Couturier tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. West manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
West tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Couturier wants to clinch.
Couturier closes the distance and clinches.
Couturier tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
West landing knees to the body.
West jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Couturier walks away with a smile on his face. West gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
The fight moves into the clinch position.

West lands a good knee to the midsection. Couturier won't want to take too many of those.

West throws an elbow but it's blocked.

West tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Couturier smiles and moves away.

A jab from Couturier finds it's way through West's defenses.
West lands a nice leg kick that just misses Couturier's sensitive parts.
A nice inside leg kick there by West. That's going to slow Couturier down.
West uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Couturier.
Couturier fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches West on the side of the head.
Couturier has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
West swats away the attempt to clinch by Couturier.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Couturier moves into the clinch successfully.
West with an attempt at a knee that misses.

West throws a punch but it's blocked by Couturier.
West lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Couturier blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
West tries to pull guard but Couturier holds him up against the cage and eventually West drops back down to his feet.

I was talking to West's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
West tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Couturier just stands there and leans against the cage.

West tries to land a knee to the head but Couturier blocks with his arms.

West creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Couturier's defenses.

Couturier breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Couturier lands a left and a right that send West crashing to the mat, dazed. Couturier thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
West is rocked!
Couturier connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt West covering up! Couturier comes in with a big uppercut and West goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Kurtis Couturier!
A very excited looking Kurtis Couturier made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
