Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Winfred Burris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Sanderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Winfred Burris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carl Sanderson!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanderson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Burris to the mat! Burris manages to get full guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Sanderson drops back looking for a leg! Burris is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Burris manages to kick Sanderson off! Sanderson jumps back into Burris's guard.
Sanderson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Sanderson wants to control from the top but Burris keeps moving.

Sanderson is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanderson is stalling in the full guard.

Sanderson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sanderson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Sanderson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Sanderson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Burris wants to get back to his feet but Sanderson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sanderson trying to control but Burris is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burris throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Sanderson controls from within his opponent's guard.
Burris wants to stand and escape but Sanderson is having none of it.

Carl Sanderson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Sanderson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Burris did well to prevent Sanderson getting side control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Sanderson in particular looking to stall.
Burris throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Sanderson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sanderson is trying to control. Burris wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Burris flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Sanderson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Burris misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Sanderson blocks the strikes from Burris.
Burris wants to get back to his feet.

Burris is defending against the submission attempts here by Sanderson.
Sanderson works his way into side control.
Sanderson lands some shots froms side control.

Sanderson is trying to get an arm triangle but Burris is defending well.
Sanderson wants to stand but Burris is controlling his arm.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sanderson looks up at the clock and then as Burris takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sanderson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Burris throws a few strikes from the bottom but Sanderson takes advantage and mounts!

Sanderson stands up from mount. Strange move.

Sanderson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Burris to the mat! Burris manages to get full guard.
Burris is breathing heavily.
Sanderson works over Burris with some ground and pound from guard.
Sanderson stops Burris from standing up.
Sanderson wants to control from the top but Burris keeps moving.
Sanderson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Sanderson tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Burris takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Sanderson lands a nice forearm strike.
Burris is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sanderson asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Sanderson just content to control the position.
Sanderson is looking to take a break and control but Burris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sanderson controls the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Sanderson tries for a kimura but Burris is defending well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carl Sanderson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Burris gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sanderson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Burris knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sanderson on the ground.
Sanderson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Burris is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Sanderson dives into side control.

Carl Sanderson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Burris is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Sanderson lands a nice forearm strike.
Burris might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Sanderson controls the position from side control.
Burris is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Sanderson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Burris knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Sanderson has hold of Burris's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Burris seems comfortable defending it but Sanderson has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Burris is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Burris is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Sanderson couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Carl Sanderson!
