The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Styles moves into the clinch.
Solis keeps control of Styles as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Styles is trying to pull guard but Solis turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Styles tries to break the clinch but Solis is controlling the position.
Solis goes for a takedown in the clinch but Styles prevents it.

Solis has picked Styles up - he's going for a ride! Solis dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Solis keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Styles wants to get back to full guard.
Styles is trying to stand back up but Solis is controlling him
Styles on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Styles is trying to maintain the position but Solis is very close to passing his half guard.
Solis is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Styles has hold of Solis's hands but Solis slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Still in half guard, Solis seems content to control.
Styles wants to get back to full guard.
Solis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nice sprawl there from Solis as Styles shoots in.
Good exchange - Solis coming out on top.

Styles has closed the distance and engaged Solis in a clinch.
Solis is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Efren Solis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenneth Styles.

Solis has clasped his hands together around Styles's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Solis grinds an elbow into Styles's temple.
Solis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Styles is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Solis connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Styles some visible discomfort.
Styles is being controlled here.
Solis lands a nice forearm strike.
Styles tries to improve position but can't.

Solis has an Americana. Styles didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Solis is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Solis hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
