PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stan Bojan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Juan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bojan kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Burn it Down. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stan Bojan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Juan!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Juan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bojan has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Juan has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Bojan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Bojan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Juan defends it well.
Juan wants to improve his position but Bojan is controlling well.

Bojan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Juan pushes Bojan off looking to stand but Bojan dives back in and keeps control.

Bojan distracts Juan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Bojan stands and steps away. Juan gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Juan throws a body punch but Bojan moves out of range.
Bojan tries for a takedown but Juan circles away easily
and Juan counters with a nice body kick.

Bojan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Juan as he avoids it easily.
Bojan moves away from the strike by Juan.
Bojan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stan Bojan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Juan swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Juan throws a body punch but Bojan moves out of range.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round but I would say that Stan Bojan will probably get the nod.

Bojan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Juan stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Juan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bojan moves away.

Juan throws a leg kick but Bojan sees it coming and moves out of range.
Bojan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Juan but Juan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
No luck for Bojan with that takedown attempt.
Bojan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Juan.
Bojan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Juan's waist but Juan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bojan off to one side.

Bojan dives in for a single leg takedown but Juan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
