Matias comes into the arena with Killing In The Name blaring out of the sound system. Rizzo Jr has chosen The Trial as his entrance music. Leighton Matias could well score a knockout today. The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Rizzo Jr misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Matias looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Matias tries to clinch up
and Matias takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rizzo Jr circles away from the clinch attempt.
Matias rushes Rizzo Jr and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Matias is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Matias gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Enrique Rizzo Jr has been cut.
Rizzo Jr misses with a hook from the clinch.
Matias misses with an elbow over the top.
Matias throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Matias.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rizzo Jr lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Matias misses with an elbow strike.
Rizzo Jr tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Rizzo Jr takes an elbow to the forehead.
That has opened up Enrique Rizzo Jr's cut even more.
Rizzo Jr blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rizzo Jr dodges an elbow strike from Matias.
Rizzo Jr lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Rizzo Jr blocks the elbow strike.
Matias lands an elbow that stopped Rizzo Jr in his tracks for a moment.
The cut above Enrique Rizzo Jr's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
With the fighters up against the cage, Matias throws an elbow but misses.
Rizzo Jr takes an elbow to the temple.
Matias gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Enrique Rizzo Jr's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Enrique Rizzo Jr's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Leighton Matias!
