Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Ruent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Tauno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tauno has chosen Pelican - Dead Between The Walls as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Tauno counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Tauno has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

and Ruent counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Tauno thinking.

and Ruent counters with a nice low kick that buckles Tauno's knee momentarily.

Tauno shoots in for a takedown but Ruent shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Tauno lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ruent enables Tauno to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ruent manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ruent looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Tauno is stalling in the full guard.
Ruent wants to improve his position but instead Tauno has moved into half guard.
Ruent is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Tauno is taking a breather. Ruent says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Tauno is pressing down on Ruent's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ruent is holding on for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tony Tauno was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Ruent throws a looping overhand right but Tauno ducks down to avoid it.

Ruent connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Tauno lands a nice hook to Ruent's body. Ruent takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Tauno drops Ruent with a big right hand! Tauno charges in looking to finish - Ruent manages to keep Tauno in his guard and seems to have recovered somewhat.

Tauno postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Ruent covers up, he's hurt! Tauno keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Tauno and the ref steps in to end the fight! Tauno can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
