Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leroy Goins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goins has chosen LL Cool J - Rocking with the G.O.A.T. as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
17 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Thiago Alves !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

26 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Leroy Goins!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves shoots in for a double leg but Goins sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Alves rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Goins counters with a good low kick that Alves was not able to check.
Alves throws a nice looking combination but Goins bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Alves just misses with a punch to the body.
Goins keeps the fight on the outside.
Alves ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Goins moves away.
Goins pulls out of a head kick attempt.
No luck for Goins with that takedown attempt.
Goins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alves tries to avoid it but Goins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alves to the ground. Alves escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Alves has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Xtreme Punishment in the buildup to the fight.

Alves stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Alves wants it to stay on the feet.
Thiago Alves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leroy Goins.

Goins uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Alves .
Alves lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

and Goins counters with a single leg into guard. Alves didn't expect that.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Alves manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Goins told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Alves has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Alves looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Goins covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
