Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Johnny Shamrock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bam Timmermans!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Timmermans misses with a right hand
and Shamrock counters with a good low kick that Timmermans was not able to check.
Timmermans looks winded!
Timmermans throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Shamrock keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
It looks like Bam Timmermans has been cut.
Timmermans throws a series of punches but Shamrock moves out of range.
Timmermans has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Shamrock drops Timmermans with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Timmermans looks back up at him and smiles so Shamrock waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Timmermans is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shamrock lands a brutal uppercut that launches Timmermans off his feet! Timmermans tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Johnny Shamrock!
A relieved looking Johnny Shamrock thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
