Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Kulakov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kulakov comes to the cage accompanied by Lube-Shparu. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James dives in and grabs Kulakov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kulakov pushes down on James's head and hops out.
Kulakov throws an off balance right hand
and James counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
James drops his hands momentarily and Kulakov takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Kulakov scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Alex James has been cut.
James misses with a wild combination.
James looks for a takedown but Kulakov sprawls well.
Kulakov throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Viktor Kulakov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex James.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Kulakov feints a jab promting James to slip. Kulakov then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. James slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Kulakov gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

James wants to pass the guard but Kulakov is keeping the position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kulakov manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. James keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

James shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kulakov's guard.
Kulakov utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kulakov is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at *Nelson Fight Camp* that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

James misses with a takedown attempt - Kulakov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
James lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Kulakov connects with a stiff jab that staggers James - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
