PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Six Shooter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Palowakski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shooter's entrance music is DJ Antoine - Ma Cherie. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Palowakski's choice of entrance music: Burning Down the House. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Six Shooter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fred Palowakski!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shooter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Shooter drops back, looking for a kneebar! Palowakski looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Palowakski looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Palowakski!
Shooter parries the strikes from Palowakski easily there. Palowakski is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Shooter to escape.

Palowakski is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Palowakski goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Shooter has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Palowakski but great work by Shooter.

Palowakski wants to hold on but Shooter pushes him away.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Palowakski can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Palowakski instigates a clinch.
Shooter is pushing Palowakski up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Palowakski is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

The referee is keeping an eye on Shooter - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Shooter jumps guard but Palowakski turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Shooter gets control of Palowakski's arms and successfully pulls guard. Shooter will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Fred Palowakski wasn't active enough on the ground.

Palowakski closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Shooter did well to prevent Palowakski getting side control.

Palowakski is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Shooter sees it coming and defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shooter is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Palowakski pulls his head out easily.
Shooter holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Palowakski is looking for submissions but instead, Shooter has regained full guard.

Shooter is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Palowakski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shooter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Six Shooter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shooter is on top in guard.

Palowakski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shooter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Fred Palowakski will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
