The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goncalves looks to clinch
and Gomez counters with a stiff right hand.
Gomez lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Gomez.

It looks like Santos Goncalves has been cut.
Gomez has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Goncalves goes for a double leg but Gomez avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Gomez continues to drive forward.
Gomez lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Goncalves jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gomez walks away with a smile on his face. Goncalves gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Goncalves shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Goncalves closes the distance but Gomez moves to the side
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Goncalves tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Goncalves dives in and grabs Gomez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gomez pushes down on Goncalves's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Santos Goncalves. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gomez drops Goncalves with a beautiful combination! Goncalves stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Gomez is looking for the KO!

Santos Goncalves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gomez cracks Goncalves on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Goncalves falls backwards against the cage. Gomez follows up with more strikes that drop Goncalves to his knees. Gomez keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Goncalves! This one is all over!
