PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tshering Wangchuck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wangchuck comes to the cage accompanied by Rapa - Rang Sem Kar Ga Mikar. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tshering Wangchuck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Lee Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wangchuck throws a head kick but Jackson moves out of range.
Jackson keeps the fight on the outside.
Wangchuck tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Jackson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wangchuck tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jackson is in Wangchuck's guard.
Jackson works over Wangchuck with some ground and pound from guard.
Jackson wants to control from the top but Wangchuck keeps moving.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Wangchuck holds on and takes a little breather.
Jackson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Wangchuck bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard.
Jackson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wangchuck won't allow Jackson to sweep him here.
Jackson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jackson pulls Wangchuck in close to his closed guard and prevents Wangchuck from doing any damage or advancing position.
Wangchuck knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jackson on the ground.

Jackson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wangchuck defends it easily.
Wangchuck wanted to stand there but Jackson had control of the position.

Wangchuck avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Wangchuck throws a big right hand that misses.

Jackson is adopting a defensive guard.

Wangchuck decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jackson, up you get!
Wangchuck leaves Jackson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jackson fails with the takedown.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wangchuck tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jackson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wangchuck tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jackson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
No luck for Jackson with that takedown attempt.
Tshering Wangchuck has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lee Jackson.
Nice body kick from Wangchuck.

Jackson shoots in and bounces Wangchuck off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Wangchuck is retaining full guard.

Jackson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wangchuck's guard.
Wangchuck moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Jackson trying to control but Wangchuck is working from the bottom.
Jackson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wangchuck is keeping the position for now.
Jackson passes Wangchuck's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Jackson is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Wangchuck is defending well.

Jackson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Wangchuck has managed to free his arm - good work.

Jackson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jackson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jackson seems to be working for a kimura but Wangchuck defends the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee Jackson dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jackson has a takedown stuffed.
Wangchuck lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Lee Jackson has been cut.

Jackson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jackson wants to control but Wangchuck is keeping him busy.
Jackson throws a strike aimed at the side of Wangchuck's head but Wangchuck avoids it well.
Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wangchuck keeps working.
Jackson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Wangchuck wants to get back to his feet.

Wangchuck tries to improve position but can't.
Wangchuck is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Jackson has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Jackson has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Jackson has control of Wangchuck's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Wangchuck regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Jackson forces the positional change into back control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Jackson's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Jackson is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Jackson lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Jackson.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wangchuck looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Jackson is not going to allow Wangchuck to sit and survive in this position.

Jackson has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Wangchuck has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Wangchuck is trying to get back to his feet but Jackson has full control of the position and if anything, Wangchuck has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Jackson working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Jackson is looking to control Wangchuck but Wangchuck is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Wangchuck defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Jackson's arms.
I would not like to be Wangchuck right now.

Jackson is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
