Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Makers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Rook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rook has chosen Mr Krinkle as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rook changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Makers tries to avoid it but Rook manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Makers to the ground. Makers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rook fails with a takedown attempt.
Makers has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Ballas Only in the buildup to the fight.
Rook uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Makers.

Mark Makers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yuri Rook.
Rook tries for a takedown but Makers circles away easily

Makers swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rook.
The cut above Yuri Rook's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Rook fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Rook closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rook lands in his opponent's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Makers controlling the position.
Makers controls Rook momentarily but Rook frees himself.
Rook drops back, looking for a kneebar! Makers looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Makers looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Makers!
Rook tries to control but Makers manages to take his back.
Makers just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Makers controlling well, preventing Rook from escaping the position.

Makers is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Rook tries to break free.
Rook turns into Makers and is now in his guard.
Makers wants to sweep but no luck.
Makers controls Rook momentarily but Rook frees himself.
Rook cracks Makers with a solid left hand.

Makers is trying to control the position but Rook postures up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Makers is on top in guard.
Rook is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Makers got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rook has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Makers has managed to get both his arms back between Rook's legs - danger averted.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Makers wants to pass the guard but Rook is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mark Makers will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Yuri Rook's cut.
That's time! Makers's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Rook dodges the punch combination from Makers.
Rook throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Makers's waist but Makers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rook off to one side.
Rook looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Makers is fending him off so far but Rook persists. Nope, Makers circles away and we're back to standing.

Makers misses with a body punch.
A head punch on the inside from Makers fails to land.
Rook blocks an elbow strike.
Rook takes an elbow to the forehead.
Makers swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Makers misses with some punches.

Makers lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Yuri Rook's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Rook works on Makers's body with a couple of short punches.
Rook blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Rook is trying to push Makers away but Makers has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Makers scores with a shot to the side of Rook's head.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Yuri Rook's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
