Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frank Sinatra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sepp Maier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maier comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Apaga mas não bate kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 19 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Sinatra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 39 - 27 - 1, fighting out of London, Sepp Maier!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maier gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Sinatra counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Sinatra tries to free his leg and advance position but Maier is retaining full guard.

Maier had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sinatra defends it easily.

Maier looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sinatra makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Sinatra passes Maier's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Maier looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sinatra uses his free foot to push down on Maier's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Maier.

Sinatra has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Maier is looking for a kimura but Sinatra is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Maier to get the leverage.
Sinatra has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Maier thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sinatra's head.
Sinatra is looking to control Maier's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sinatra avoid being mounted?
Maier is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Sinatra is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sinatra sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Maier is working for a kimura but Sinatra is defending it quite comfortably.

Maier passes the guard and advances to mount!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sinatra sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Sinatra dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Maier escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sinatra gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

BOOM! Sinatra connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Sinatra postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Maier in real trouble here! The ref calls for Maier to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
